What equipment a karaoke DJ needs to get started

You do not need a mountain of gear to start. Here is the short list.
Sound
- Active speakers with enough power for the size of the venue.
- Two microphones, wireless or wired.
- A small mixer or sound card to control voice and music volume.
Picture
A large TV or projector to show the lyrics. It should be readable from the back of the room.
Computer
A laptop with stable internet. If you use your own videos, a drive with enough space.
Software for requests
A paper sheet works with 10 people and fails with 50. Software with QR requests keeps the queue in order. You can also use it alongside VirtualDJ.
Useful extras
- Spare cables and microphone batteries.
- A stand for the TV.
- A phone hotspot in case the venue internet fails.
